Last year I took on a 365 project: one photo every day for a year. After around 120 days, life got the best of me. I would miss a day, and feel guilty. I’d realize I hadn’t taken a photo at 11:30 at night, so I’d snap something random, just for the sake of the photo. It was stressing me out more than I ever expected a simple project could, so I stopped. I’d still take photos at least once a week, but I stopped counting them towards a 365 project.
This year, I decided that rather than taking on another 365, I would simply take photos as often as I could, and that I would be happy about it. If I missed a day (or four) that was okay. I’m focusing on growth this year. I want to see improvement in my work. I want to focus on the details of life.
Here is a look at the first few shots of this year’s “Daily Clicks” project:
That last photo might be my favorite so far. Last night, Miss A got her first “big girl bed.” As you can tell, she was more than excited. I can’t count how many times in the last 18 hours she’s told me “It’s perfect, mama. I love it.” She’s growing so fast.
Keep an eye on the blog for more Daily Clicks posts throughout the year. I’m sure that 2015 will be a great one.
