Ballerinas have to be some of my favorite subjects to shoot. Between their grace and elegance, and their raw talent, it’s hard to top them in my book. In June I had the extreme privilege of shooting a ballet session with Michaela at the Michigan state capitol building. I loved every second of it. Those of you who have worked with me in the past know how giddy I get when I get “the shot,” that one that I’d been hoping for all night, that just makes the session complete. Well imagine that giddiness all. session. long. I was like a kid in a candy store, on Christmas morning, with an unlimited supply of money. Talk about living the dream.
Michaela and I styled every element of her session: her outfit, her makeup, her hair, the location, and the time to shoot. I knew it was going to turn out perfect even before it happened. The inspiration for this session came from the movie Black Swan. I knew exactly the feel I wanted for this shoot. We met pretty early in the morning, and God blessed us with some awesome fog. Again, you should have watched me jumping up and down for joy. I was far too excited for this.
As we started shooting, magic happened. We ended up with so many amazing shots. I submitted the session to Senior Style Guide, a website and magazine that features senior sessions across the country. They’re pretty fantastic, and guess what? This session was accepted. Check out their post about Michaela’s session here.
Now, what you’ve all been waiting for. Take a look at Michela’s super fantastic senior dance session below:
I couldn’t be happier with how Michaela’s dance session turned out. I can’t wait to shoot another ballerina session soon.
God Bless ♥ Victoria
